Antiretroviral drugs can prevent HIV in men who have sex with men, study shows

The same drugs used for treating HIV can also help prevent infection, according to results from a new study of oral pre-exposure prohylaxis (PrEP) called iPrEx. The study, conducted with men who have sex with men, is a major boost to HIV prevention efforts but needs to be confirmed in other at-risk populations, say researchers.
