Shuttle's journey across L.A. is a vast challenge in logistics

The huge craft will pass just inches from buildings. Massive steel plates have been laid down to protect streets and utilities. Streetlights have been removed and power will be shut off. The space shuttle's drive from Los Angeles International Airport to Exposition Park over the next few days is shaping up to be an L.A. commute like no other.
