Physicists hail progress in search for Higgs particle

Researchers say they've narrowed the potential range for the so-called God particle. Meanwhile, the Large Hadron Collider team reports a pioneering discovery for Europe. Physicists on both sides of the Atlantic on Monday claimed major new progress in the search for the elusive Higgs boson, the so-called God particle that is the cornerstone of the standard model of particles and forces.
