NASA delays Mars rover launch to 2011

Technical problems make the planned 2009 launch impossible, officials say. The delay will add $400 million to the cost of the mission and might result in layoffs at JPL. The launch of NASA's SUV-sized, next-generation Mars rover has been delayed for two years due to continuing technical problems and cost overruns, the space agency announced today.
