3 Super Moons Loom Large This Summer | Video

On 12 July, 10 August and 9 September 2014, a full moon will occur when the satellite is closest to Earth in orbit. Called a ‘perigee moon’ its brightness is increased and size enlarged due to proximity to Earthbound skywatchers.
