2.6 million stillbirths occur after 28th week, study finds

Half of the stillbirths worldwide take place during delivery, in large part because of inadequate medical care, researchers say. India, Pakistan, Nigeria, China and Bangladesh account for half of the stillbirths each year.At least 2.6 million infants and fetuses die worldwide after the 28th week of pregnancy every year, a number that has declined only modestly in recent years, researchers said Wednesday.
