Bacteria can live in Mars-like conditions

CORVALLIS, Ore., Dec. 15 (UPI) -- Microbes found in a lava tube in Oregon are thriving in Mars-like conditions -- near freezing temperatures and low levels of oxygen, U.S. researchers say.
