Mystery blobs surface after U.S. hurricane

GLOUCESTER POINT, Va., Sept. 8 (UPI) -- Mysterious gray blobs washing up on eastern U.S. beaches in the wake of Hurricane Irene are alive, a researcher says -- they are in fact sponges.
