New Test May Predict Spread Of Breast Cancer

Scientists have discovered that the co-mingling of three cell types can predict whether localized breast cancer will spread throughout the body. Their collaboration with other scientists has led to a test with potential clinical application for precisely identifying which patients should receive aggressive therapy -- sparing many women at low risk for metastatic disease from undergoing unnecessary and potentially dangerous treatment.
