Estrogen taken alone is linked to lower breast cancer risk

An analysis finds that women who took the hormone by itself after menopause had a reduced risk of developing breast cancer. But it's not quite that simple. Many women who used estrogen alone as hormone replacement therapy after menopause had a lower risk of developing breast cancer up to five years after they stopped taking it, a study has found.
