Poor countries have disproportionately higher burden of disease from stroke than from heart disease

Poorer countries often have disproportionately higher rates of stroke disability and death than wealthier countries, according to new research. The study authors suggest stroke and heart disease rates may need to be considered separately for global disease reporting and prevention efforts.
