Dangerous staph infections declining, study shows

The most comprehensive U.S. study to date shows that the number of cases of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA, dropped in healthcare settings from 2005 to 2008. Dangerous infections caused by the bacterium methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA, appear to be declining in healthcare settings across the nation, the federal government reported Tuesday.
