BP pumps mud into well as Senate shelves drilling bill

Heavy sludge begins pouring into the damaged Gulf of Mexico well and could soon be followed by cement. Meanwhile, Democrats say they'll try in September to raise the liability cap on oil spills. BP moved ahead with a pumping operation to plug its infamous gulf well, while Senate leaders Tuesday shelved offshore drilling legislation that would lift the liability cap on oil spills.
