Possible method for boosting the immune system to protect infants against HIV

Researchers may have uncovered a new weapon for combating HIV as it is passed from mother to newborn child. Scientists boosted HIV-specific neutralizing antibodies that are passed across the placenta at birth. These animals developed higher levels of neutralizing antibodies and had lower levels of disease in their blood.
