U.S. deficit "more than tripled" because of coronavirus rescue spending, report says

The federal budget deficit tripled in the first 10 months of fiscal year 2020, up to $2.8 trillion compared with $0.9 trillion during the same period last year, the U.S. Congressional Budget Office said in a report.
