Russia's Next-Generation Angara Rocket Aces 1st Test Launch

The Angara rocket — which Russia has been developing for more than 20 years — blasted off from Plesetsk Cosmodrome in northwestern Russia Wednesday (July 9) at 4:00 p.m. local time (8:00 a.m. EDT), carrying a dummy payload on its maiden flight.
