'Hypervelocity Star' May Reveal Clues About Dark Matter in Milky Way

The star is streaking through space at 1.4 million mph relative to our solar system, about three times faster than a typical star. It lies 42,400 light-years from Earth and is cruising toward the halo of dark matter that surrounds the galaxy.
