Ionizing Radiation, UV Light, And Perchlorates - Not Deadly For "Swimming Pools For Bacteria" On Mars Surface

Wednesday, August 6, 2014 - 03:50 in Astronomy & Space

I thought I'd post this because there are many who haven't followed the latest findings, who still think that present day life on the surface of Mars is absolutely impossible. The reasons given are - that it's impossible because of UV light, ionizing radiation, and perchlorates, and because the atmosphere is in almost perfect chemical equilibrium. Which is indeed what most scientists believed, prior to about 2008.Nowadays there is a wide range of expert opinion about whether the postulated Mars surface habitats exist or not - and about whether they have the levels of "water activity" that life needs.  read more
