My post on demystifying black holes had Einstein and Hawking in the first paragraph, and wow do people click on it. So I do it again. Well, no, actually, I won’t make a habit out of it. I will stick to what is important, and today it is about something much more important: Duality! Duality is the most important recent insight in physics and philosophy of physics. Today, I will explain duality in more general terms, and the next time, I will apply it specifically to black holes, which are actually really good at bringing home the duality lesson. read more
