For low-income families, substandard housing takes toll on children

A study of 2,400 children living in low-income neighborhoods links poor housing quality to an increase in emotional and behavioral problems in children and poor school performance in teens, according to a team of researchers. The findings suggest linking quality and affordability when considering housing policies.
