Grant to Fund UAB Studies of Countermeasures to Bromine Exposure

UAB has received a $4 million grant from NIH to study methods of countering exposure to bromine, a highly toxic liquid commonly used as a flame retardant and in the manufacture of photographic film. It has also been used as a poison gas.
