Surgeon infected patients during heart procedure, Cedars-Sinai admits

The hospital says five people were accidentally infected when tears in surgical gloves allowed bacteria on the doctor's hands to pass into patient's hearts. Four patients needed second operations.A heart surgeon at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center unwittingly infected five patients during valve replacement surgeries earlier this year, causing four of the patients to need a second operation.
