Mullen wishes House would have held off on gay ban vote

The Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman says he favors lifting the ban, but thinks lawmakers should have waited for the Pentagon's review. The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said Sunday he would have preferred that Congress had waited before voting to repeal the "don't ask, don't tell" policy that bans gays from serving openly in the military.
