Researchers make progress on early detection of ovarian cancer

Scientists have found that certain 'biomarkers' show up in blood tests years before symptoms appear, but their predictive ability doesn't occur until later, when the cancer has probably advanced. Researchers have taken a small but potentially significant step toward early detection of ovarian cancer, a deadly disease often diagnosed too late for effective treatment.
