A well-planned diet includes a mix of nutrients such as protein, omega-3 fatty acids, iron, zinc, iodine, calcium and vitamins D and B-12. It's not hard to get all of your daily needs from nonmeat sources, nutritionists say, but it takes thought and planning -- plus a few tricks.
