EPA may decide not to limit the amount of a toxin in water supplies

An agency official tells a Senate committee that it's possible there will be no standard set for the amount of perchlorate allowed in drinking water. A top Environmental Protection Agency official told a Senate committee Tuesday that there was "a distinct possibility" that the agency would not limit the amount of perchlorate, a toxic ingredient of solid rocket fuel, that is allowable in drinking water.
