Mars rover Opportunity helped usher in new generation of explorers

A historic Mars expedition is officially over after a record-breaking mission, but its efforts might help with any human trip to the Red Planet. NASA lost contact with the rover Opportunity eight months ago. On Wednesday the space agency declared it dead due to a giant dust storm. Mark Strassmann reports.
