Calls for closer scrutiny if Canada expands collection of biometric data

The federal government says it is moving to collect biometric information from 2.9 million people by 2018-19, but the wide-ranging scope of amendments in the omnibus budget bill is giving rise to privacy concerns and calls for closer scrutiny.
