Tiny balloon catheter used by military stops bleeding in trauma patients

A balloon catheter that is inflated inside the aorta to stop severe bleeding was approved by Health Canada in late 2017 and the McGill University Health Centre is now believed to be the only institution in the country employing the life-saving device.
