Moon's Close Encounters with Venus, Saturn & Jupiter Explained

The moon will be near three of the brightest planets: Venus, Saturn, and Jupiter. The encounters begin Aug. 9, with the moon near planet Venus. On Aug. 12, the moon nears Saturn and by Aug. 31, the moon is shining to the right of Jupiter.
