High temperature milestone achieved in silicon spintronics

Researchers have demonstrated that spin accumulation in silicon -- semiconductor spintronics -- is viable as a basis for practical devices relying on electron spin rather than electron charge, providing higher performance, lower power consumption and less heat dissipation.
