Maternal deaths fall worldwide from a half-million annually to less that 350,000

The number of women dying from pregnancy-related deaths has dropped by more than 35 percent in the past 30 years. Developing countries in particular have made substantial progress in reducing maternal deaths. Egypt, China, Ecuador and Bolivia are among the countries with accelerated improvement.
