Chantix Side Effects No Worse With Depression History, Study Suggests

Recent FDA advisories have reflected concerns about Chantix side effects, including depression, agitation, and suicide, especially in people with a psychiatric history. This study of over 1,000 Group Health patients is the first "real-world" examination of Chantix use since the original FDA studies. People with a history of depression who took Chantix reported no more severe mood symptoms, medication side effects, or difficulty quitting smoking than did those with no depression history taking this drug.
