Research has shown that as early as preschool, aggressive and inattentive children have fewer friends and difficulty establishing relationships with peers. It is noteworthy that in conducting this study, the researchers used a new quantitative procedure called the "Q-connectivity method" to assess peer interactions. This information from the assessment was then used to examine the relationship between a child's ability to establish relationships with peers and physical aggression, anger, and attention problems.
