A Chinese university in Beijing --Tsinghua University formally established a Center of Mathematical Sciences on December 17, 2009. World renowned Harvard mathematics professor Dr. Shing-Tung Yau, who himself received a Fields Medal in 1982, was appointed the first director of the Center.
