Heralding their desire to bring technological innovations to society, MIT leaders and faculty formally dedicated the new building of the MIT Sloan School of Management on Friday, celebrating what David Schmittlein, the John C. Head III Dean of Sloan, termed “a new chapter” in the school’s history.“This school will never be finished,” Schmittlein said at the dedication ceremony, echoing a remark once made by Alfred P. Sloan Jr., the 1895 MIT graduate and former chairman of General Motors who helped found the management school.
