What causes motor complications of Parkinson's treatment?

Research results at MIT may lead to new approaches to the treatment of dyskinesias in Parkinson's patients, of which there are more than 1 million in the United States alone. Involuntary nodding and rocking are common side effects known as L-DOPA-induced dyskinesias.
