The birding community is atwitter over news that the red-flanked bluetail, a thrush-like bird that breeds in Northern Europe and Northern Asia and winters mainly in Southeast Asia, is spotted on San Clemente Island. Its only other North American engagement was 22 years ago on an island off San Francisco.Hark, the red-flanked bluetail sings!
