Landslides, rain and communications problems hamper rescue efforts; in one six-mile stretch of road, 16 landslides were reported. The magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck Sunday in India's northeastern Sikkim state near the Nepal border.Rain, landslides and severed communications continued to hamper rescue efforts early Tuesday and the death toll climbed past 50 following a large earthquake that struck northeastern India, Nepal and Tibet.
