Attorney for Granite Construction says the Native Americans failed to notify firm of mountain peak's sacred status. A Pechanga representative disputes charges that religious claims are not authentic. A contentious hearing on Monday over a massive rock quarry proposed near Temecula drew hundreds of people and sparked a heated exchange between mining officials and representative of the Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians.
