Report says big Southland quake would have huge effect on workforce and economy

A 7.8-magnitude quake on the San Andreas could affect 430,000 businesses and 4.5 million workers, U.S. agency says. Companies are urged to prepare for broken supply lines, utilities and other potential disruptions.A massive earthquake rippling down the lower half of the San Andreas fault could cripple Southern California's economy and deal a severe shock to millions of workers and hundreds of thousands of businesses, according to a report released Tuesday by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
