Remnants of oil spill linger in Montebello tributary

Forty gallons of crude oil and 400 gallons of brine water leaked from a broken pipeline into the Rio Hondo River tributary. Authorities say the cleanup is complete, but signs of the spill are still present.The gooey remnants of an oil spill lurked Tuesday in a tributary of the Rio Hondo River in Montebello, near where 40 gallons of crude oil and 400 gallons of brine water had leaked from a broken pipeline into a storm drain.
