Tree's weapon against elephants? Ants

The insects that live in a certain acacia sting the tender inside of pachyderms' trunks, deterring the hungry giants, ecologists report. The finding may be used to protect other vulnerable plants. Ecologists have discovered the secret weapon used by certain acacia trees to defend themselves against ravenous elephants: ants.
