Afghan forces battle insurgents outside peace conference

A suicide bomber blows himself up, and some insurgents reportedly are shot. But apparently no one at the conference is injured. Security forces battled insurgents, including at least one suicide bomber, outside a national peace conference just as President Hamid Karzai opened the three-day meeting Wednesday in the Afghan capital.
