Lonely Alien Planet Discovered Without a Parent Star

Astronomers have found a lonely planet that's floating by itself in deep space without orbiting a star. It was detected in a search for brown drawfs using a telescope at the summit of Maui's Haleakala volcano, Pan-STARRS 1.
