Japan launches new next-generation weather satellite

A rocket carrying the Global Precipitation Measurement Core Observatory was launched at Japan's Tanegashima Island Space Center. The satellite mission, led by both NASA and the Japanese space agency, JAXA, will provide observations of rain and snow worldwide.
