Landscaping instead of monoculture

Producing biogas from silage maize booms may seem like a good idea, but this green energy production also has its drawbacks: Maize monocultures block increasingly large areas for food production and result in a monotonous landscape. So far unused grass from landscaping is an ecological alternative, if economic drawbacks are compensated, conclude European researchers.
