The Pentagon has lifted the military's official ban on women in combat, a historic decision that President Obama said reflected "the courageous and patriotic service of women through more than two centuries of American history." Northeastern University news office asked Martha Davis, women's rights expert and professor of law, to assess the decision's impact on gender equality both in and out of the armed forces.
