UIC Helps Lead Groundbreaking Budget Initiative by and for Ward Residents

In 2012-13, four Chicago wards will undertake participatory budgeting, a process used by only two other cities in the United States. It will give the wards' residents the power to decide directly how to spend $4 million in taxpayer dollars.
