Julio C. Voltarelli, MD, PhD, professor at the Ribeirao Preto School of Medicine at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, died March 21, 2012 at the age of 63. He had a significant impact on Brazilian cell transplantation science, establishing the first bone marrow transplantation unit in Brazil.
